We had a funny little reminder that things aren't quite right. We have become used to role playing situations and scripted conversations with Fall. She has a friend that doesn't like to be touched, and yet Fall is ever so touchy. We had to come up with a game plan. We talked about how when we see friends we can say things like "Hey! Nice to see you!" and if we don't think that is enough we can give them a compliment. Since her friend was someone she really liked, the excitement when seeing her would be almost overwhelming without being able to reach out and hug the stuffing right out of her. So, we decided on a nice compliment. Its never just that easy though. Compliments are hard to think of. Especially when its just a conversation starter. Fall has come up with her own scripted compliment "I like your shirt". I never really noticed how often she was using that line, I mean, I know I'm very used to hearing it. It wasn't until my one year old said "Daddy, I like your shirt!" that we realized we need to come up with a new line. It was cute, and it was hilarious, but what a reminder.
Well that's just adorable :)
